Eastern European PC/Macintosh Genealogy and NLS Concerns
A New Book in the Making...
I am currently developing a book tentatively titled,
"A Guide to Eastern European Genealogical Computing Resources, Tools and Techniques"
which is based on six years of genealogical computing presentations I've done for the
Czechoslovak Genealogical Society International, The Czech and Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois, and for other groups.
If you're interested, please drop me a line and I will add you to
my email notification list.
Important information for users of MacPAF Utility
If you're a user of MacPAF Utility V1.1 and have tried to use it with the
database of the new PAF/Family Records 2.3.1 you've probably noticed there's
a problem. This has been corrected in MacPAF Utility V1.3.
Registered users can get a copy of MacPAF Utility V1.3 on the
CSAGSI TOOLS
web page.
News:
There's an exciting genealogy group for those interested in Chicago-area
Eastern European genealogy:
CSAGSI,
The Czech & Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois. If you live in or have
ancestors who have passed through, the Chicago area, you certainly want to be a
member of this group.
All of what I used to have on this page (and more) can be found there
(I didn't want to maintain two rather similar pages) including the Czech and Slovak
translation tools, the PAF utilities for DOS and the Macintosh, and the hot links.
I am researching the following surnames...
- Slovakia
- Janusek, Rentka, Rentkova, Kadlejcik, Pajta, Pajtova,
Sikova, Klinovska, Klinovsky, Heretikova, Heretik.
- Austria/Bohemia
- Miksanek, Miksanika, Kremenkove, Pipal, Mendlova, Beranek.
