Family Vacation
In 2004, the family took a road trip through Battle Creek, London, Ontario, Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Cedar Point. Along the way we stopped at the world's largest fireworks store, the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster, and the world's best dollar store (according to us experts, and hey, it was in Canada, so it was really like a seventy-five cents store). It was, as always, a great time. Here are some of the pictures from the 10-day excursion.

Cereal City, Battlecreek Michigan
SPAMtown it ain't.
Laser Tag, London, Ontario
This was actually cooler than I thought and
everyone had a great time. Basically, you run around a darkened-maze shooting
each other with lasers.
Intercontinental Hotel, Toronto
Sophistication and charm are the hallmarks of the InterContinental Toronto. Offering 200+ rooms and a convenient location, the hotel caters to the discerning traveler ... wait a second, that sounds like a commercial, but for sure, the InterContinental was one of the highlights of the trip. The pool was on the top floor, it was never crowded and offered a patio, as well. As you can see in the photo, the view was very nice (can you see the CN Tower?). The rooms were second only to the prime location. Everything was either walking distance or a convenient subway ride away: Chinatown, Little Italy, the CN Tower, Greektown.
The CN Tower
Yes, it looks like the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, and yes, if you've been in the Sears Tower or John Hancock building it's really just another nice view, except ... the CN Tower has a glass floor. That's right. You can stand on it and look 1,122 feet straight down.
Niagara Falls
It sounds really "square," but Niagara Falls was actually very cool. We did the "Maid of the Mist" and "Behind the Falls." We also did the IMAX, Guinness World of Records Museum, Movieland Wax Museum, Marvel Adventure City, the House of Frankenstein, and the Hershey Store ... probably more, I'll have to check the Visa statement.

Falls View Room: $279.00 ...
Sitting around the room watching
"Mars Attacks" on a 7-inch screen: Priceless

Things are not what they seem
I know what you're thinking, it's a cute mascot, that's what we thought.
But we later learned it was a pick-pocket dressed as a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup who was not associated with the Hershey Store at all. He would scootch-up behind people and then lift their wallet.
The white gloves should have tipped-us off. No fingerprints!
